San Francisco, California – June 1, 2020. California Civil Rights Law Group, a leading law firm focused on discrimination and workplace harassment litigation in the San Francisco Bay Area, is proud to announce a new, short post commemorating two important civil rights leaders, Yuri Kochiyama and Malcolm X. The post explains that the two leaders share the same birthday, May 19th, and this date thus provides the opportunity to talk about their different roles in the struggle for civil rights.

San Francisco Bay Area Discrimination Attorneys

“History teaches us so much,” explained Navruz Avloni, managing attorney at the Bay Area-based law firm. “Our practice helps San Francisco Bay Area clients who may be suffering from workplace harassment or any type of discrimination. They’re urged not just to read the post and celebrate the achievements of the past, but to take their own step towards justice.”

The post explains that May 19 marks the anniversary of the birth of two leaders in the battle for civil rights in the United States: Yuri Kochiyama, tireless political activist for issues ranging from international political prisoner rights to nuclear disarmament to Asian American empowerment; and enigmatic civil rights leader Malcolm X. Born on the same day, four years and a continent apart, Kochiyama was with Malcolm X as he addressed the Organization of Afro-American Unity at the Audubon Ballroom when he was assassinated in 1965.

DISCRIMINATION AND WORKPLACE HARASSMENT IN THE SAN FRANCISCO

Here is background on this release. Even today, years after the lives of Kochiyama and Malcolm X, San Francisco Bay Area employees may still face discrimination or harassment in many forms. Unfortunately, one common form is sexual harassment in which an employer, supervisor, or other worker engages in inappropriate words or actions vis-a-vis another employee. Another form is discrimination in which a person is illegally discriminated against for a variety of reasons such as their race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. The reality is that the average person may not know the law and their legal rights, so the best first step is to reach out to a Bay Area attorney for a consultation. With offices in Oakland, San Francisco, and San Anselmo in Marin County, the California Civil Rights Law Group makes it easy for Bay Area clients to reach out for a consultation. Indeed, during the current shutdown, the lawyers are also available via the telephone or Internet web conference to offer confidential consultations to clients. Whether a person is in San Francisco, Oakland, Santa Clara or elsewhere in the Bay Area is thus unimportant; a simple phone call can begin the process of reaching out to an attorney for a consultation and having that attorney assess the basic facts and the law to evaluate whether potential litigation might move forward.
